Abstract
Ramji Raghavan (Ramji) an economics-grad at Hansraj; MBA from London Business School and a product of Rishi Valley, had set up the Agastya International Foundation (Agastya), a non-profit organisation in 1999, after having worked decades abroad in banking and finance sectors and as Vice-President of mergers at Citibank. Ramji along with four founding trustees; his old English teacher Mahavir, a close friend PK Iyengar, his former Principal Balasubramaniam and his father KV Raghavan, formed the team. With 138 Mobile Science Vans, 60 Science Centers, 313 Night Village Schools, 108 Lab in Boxes and around 500 government school children visiting the main campus in a 172-acre Creativity Lab campus in Kuppam (Andhra Pradesh) every day, Agastya aimed to infuse the spirit of curiosity through hands-on learning science among underprivileged children at their doorstep, mainly from rural backgrounds. The programs at Agastya were all funded by Individuals, corporate CSR and state governments or foundations. Ramji's vision as a founder was to groom future leaders and social enterprise through innovations and creativity for the Bottom of the Pyramid. What remained to be seen was how does Ramji achieve his vision?
