Abstract

Economics is a subject primarily taught in lecture format. However, Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences claims that people can have ten different intelligences, or ways of learning. Using teaching methods based on these ten intelligences may result in an environment more conducive to student learning. In this paper, the author will provide ways of recognizing different intelligences in students and will connect active teaching and learning strategies to Gardner's ten intelligences.
