Abstract
This is the third of a three-case series. In August 2006, the RV Tangaroa set sail on the first of three Chatham/Challenger voyages. To maximise the value of the voyage fisheries biologists, marine ecologists and oceanographers were on board, as well as the seabed survey team. But no new survey projects were being prepared, and no funding was in the pipeline.
