The NRG Group, an e-commerce incubator, provides a variety of services to the companies it incubates, such as management, strategic advice and technical infrastructure. The chief financial officer (CFO) is preparing for a meeting with the board of directors to determine whether or not they should proceed with its initial public offering. Initially there was great interest and they hoped to raise $50 million from investors, but then there was a downturn in the market. The CFO had to decide whether to reprice the shares and reduce the amount of money the company was looking for, or to postpone the initial public offering until the market improved.
