Virtek Vision International Inc was a publicly traded company that sold precision systems for laser templating and imaging to a wide range of industries. In 1999, with sales of $10 million, Virtek placed fourth on the Profit 100 list of Canada''s fastest growing companies. In spite of this impressive performance, stock price continued to languish at less than $2 per share. The president and chief executive officer (CEO) firmly believed that the company had the potential to become a $100 million global player in the industrial laser business.
