Abstract
This exercise is to accompany the background note. This negotiation represents the final meeting between a job applicant who is looking for a middle level position and a recruiter from an IT and Consulting firm. After two rounds of interview, the situation has come to a point at which the candidate needs to negotiate on the compensation and designation. The situation is challenging for both the applicant and recruiter. Applicants often assume that they have little power to negotiate the job offer and they have difficulty making and justifying the requests to improve the offer. It is important to understand that the negotiating parties need each other to fulfill their requirements and achieve their objectives by using integrative approach.
