Abstract
Rob Engel is the purchasing manager of a small packaging company located in Eastern Canada. He is facing a recurrent stock-out problem which is caused, according to him, by inaccurate information entries from the shop floor. He already mentioned the problem to his superiors, who dismissed him arguing that there was no problem. However, Engel wants to settle this issue before losing a customer due to a missed delivery window. Students must make decisions related to how to conduct an analysis of inventory stock-outs and how to address a purchasing issue in a small business.
