Abstract
This is a French version. Due to its geography and climate, the island of Guadeloupe is a real laboratory of energy transition. The evolution of the local photovoltaic industry environment over the last twelve years (2006-2018) has had a profound impact on the players and structure of the sector. This case study describes the environmental conditions in which the photovoltaic industry (installation of photovoltaic panels for the production of electrical energy) developed on the island of Guadeloupe between 2006 and 2017. Its aim is to assess the influence of the variables that make up the environment specific to this sector of activity. Through the information collected in this case study, students or executive education participants will be led to carry out a PESTEL-type environmental analysis with the aim of highlighting, on the one hand, the main environmental factors that bring opportunities or threats to the sector and, on the other hand, the drivers of the sector, in other words the environmental factors that potentially bring about important changes for the sector and whose evolution over time is uncertain.
