Inviting investors to a region or State yet to explore its potential is a challenge. A bigger challenge is to generate investor recall. Can social media create a magic of sorts? Why the current social media properties could not be optimally utilised? The dilemma of leveraging social media for an Indian State like Jharkhand, not yet categorised in the bracket for preferred investments in a short span of time of 7 days, poses decisional anxiety and calls for utilising all the Integrated Marketing Communication acumen. Would it bring the desired results? How to go about it? What should be the methodology and what must be understood immediately before hand? This case is about ensuring top investor recall for Jharkhand in the run up and during the First Global Investor Summit held on Feb 16-17, 2017. Whilst Jharkhand in its own distinct manner represents business opportunities as it has 40 percent of mineral reserves of India and ranks 7th in the Ease of Doing Business rankings within India, it has sufficient ground to cover before it can become the most preferred investment destination in India. Nevertheless, an optimal social media strategy was devised by EY to ensure top recall for Brand Jharkhand.
