Abstract
Western Mining Corporation is one of Australia''s largest mining companies and one of its largest enterprises. This case picks up where Western Mining Corporation (A), case 9A95E003, ended and details the challenges experienced by the implementation team and various operational personnel during the implementation phase of the operations management system (OMS), ending on the morning of the day before the cut-over to the new OMS system. The (B) case is best used in conjunction with the (A) case. It is a good vehicle for illustrating how implementation is affected by events that take place during the development phase of a project. It is also useful for examining the dynamics that occur between project and operational personnel during the introduction of a new system.
