Abstract
This case is intended to be used in conjunction with Rebar Steel Limited - Background Information 9A94D007, which gives common background information for each of the four cases: Rebar Steel Limited (A)-(D) 9A94D008, 9A94D009, 9A94D010, and 9A94D011. In the (C) case, about five months after starting up the melt shop, the plant manager started up the rolling mill. Now, three months later, he faces a problem in the rolling mill. He believes that losses are too high and is trying to decide what to do to reduce them. Students have to evaluate the magnitude of the losses and decide what action to take to reduce them.
