Anticipating huge increase in demand of plastic products, two budding entrepreneurs, Goswami and Sarkar are planning to set up a plastic bottle manufacturing plant at Multi Product SEZ special economic zone (SEZ) adjacent to Multi-modal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN). They located an existing building on the site which is available on rent. The viability of the operations are judged not only by breakeven point, and margin of safety but also carrying sensitivity analysis with different volumes of production. The case emphasizes that just breaking even is not adequate to start a new venture, the investors should earn adequate return from it.
