Abstract

The case presents an interesting campaign by an Ivorian entrepreneur to create awareness of the need for a clean sustainable environment in her country through the conversion of industrial wastes to wealth. Her technique was captured with the slogan 'Your waste is somebody else's raw material'. Her innovative approach to continuous cultivation of mushroom off the ground throughout the year which enhanced environmental cleanliness and the drive to entrench mushroom as a regular dietary meal for Ivorians, earned her international awards. Elmine's dream of scaling up the production and sales of the product both locally and internationally by the development of 60 mushroom farms required enormous resources to which she must find a way to achieve.
