Abstract

Telemedicine would be one of the key roadmaps to improve medical facilities especially in rural areas in a country like India. Founded in 2017, Tattvan, one of the leading telemedicine service providers in India was aiming to offer healthcare benefits in remote regions, specifically in the tier II and tier III cities in the country. With the help of the e-Clinics, Tattvan brought doctors and specialists from reputed hospitals in big cities to the smaller regions mainly to cater to the various medical needs of the people. Quick services of the company along with various unique features of the e-Clinics such as automated patient follow-ups, etc, offered best treatment at affordable prices to the people in the remote areas of the country. With the proliferation of smart devices and innovative ideas, Tattvan witnessed almost a 100% growth on month-on-month basis during 2019. Tattvan was also aiming to expand its healthcare services across different parts of India. It was planning to enter into international markets namely Uganda, Iraq, Bangladesh and Tajikistan. However, getting skilled workers might be a difficult task for telemedicine service providers including Tattvan. In addition to this, lack of or slow internet connectivity, linguistic barrier and intermittent nature of power supply were some of the key obstacles for the growth of the telemedicine service in the Indian market. With this background, would Tattvan be able to revolutionise the Indian healthcare system with the help of its technology enabled telemedicine business model?
