Abstract

This case is a first person account of an MBA student''s summer internship at Wal-Mart coporate in Bentonville, AK. She shares her evolving observations and experiences as her summer unfolds. The (B) case chronicles the 8 weeks she spent at a local Wal-Mart store as a part time sales associate. This case series [see also the (A) case (UVA-OB-0802)], can be used to highlight how individuals learn an organization''s culture and how that culture is manifested.
