Abstract
The TRS Group Bursa Unit manufactured highly complex machine parts and was widely renowned in the market for its best practice in cost competitiveness and quality. David Phillips was the Technical Manager when an unexpected defective product was sent to an internal customer and caused a major safety problem. This case describes the TRS culture, the effect of national culture on organisational culture, and how TRS leaders responded to this quality problem by emphasising TRS values such as trust and continuous improvement.
