Abstract

Titan Company Ltd (Titan), was the market leader in India's watch industry and also the fifth-largest time machine manufacturer globally. It offered a variety of brands targeted at different consumer segments and was well accepted across India. In 2016, Titan forayed into the smart watch segment and had since launched a number of brands under all its core brands. This had helped effect a turnaround in the watches division, which was trailing in growth and innovation. Despite being a late entrant in the smart watch market, Titan had achieved significant success, becoming the second leading player in the smart wearables segment. With leading tech players dominating this market, how Titan would be able to hold its forte and sustain growth, remained to be seen.
