Abstract
Three entrepreneurs, Shreyans Mehta, Nikhil Baheti and Saida Dhanavath cofounded MedCords in 2017 in Kota, Rajasthan with an aim to help people in rural and semi-urban India access all their health care requirements on a single platform. The cloud-based health management platform had developed two android apps - 'Aayu App' for families and 'Sehat Sathi App' for medical stores along with a doctor web portal to solve the problem of accessibility, cost, and quality of health care. To help people during the spread of COVID-19, the company had launched a health card. As of June 2021, the start-up had associated with 25,000 pharmacies in 650 towns and cities across 13 states and had roped in 5,000 doctors and specialists on its platform. The company had a customer base of more than 3.5 million people. MedCords was competing with health care start-ups like Practo, Lybrate, mfine, mUpchar, DocsApp, NedMeds, and 1MG. By 2024, MedCords wanted to increase its userbase to 20 million, medical stores to 0.1 million along with INR650 million in revenue and 2 million annual consultations. Would MedCords be able to achieve this mammoth targets?
