Abstract

This case study presents some of the measures undertaken by the MIT institute to promote women’s participation within the party structure and in the context of elections. National Women Parliament (NWP) is a common platform for women from diverse backgrounds like politics, social sector, education, sports, industry, media, cinema, arts & culture, judiciary, and young aspiring girl students to stage their experiences, share knowledge and research in the area of women's social economic and political empowerment. It also presents some of the work done by the NWP, a nonpartisan organization that aims to strengthen women’s political voices both inside and outside of parliament. Its first annual national conclave was hosted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2017 and it will be continued to other states in the following years. In NWP girl students from colleges of Higher Education were connected to women legislatures, parliamentarians, women corporate leaders, and representatives from the social sector for reciprocal and continuing assignations. The platform will stay faithful to its endeavors till significant progress is made in achieving respectable representation of women in national and world political order.
