Abstract

The case 'Understanding Your Credit Report and Score' presents information about how credit reports and credit scores are generated and used. Students are asked to access their credit report and score and to evaluate their current credit profile. If students have not yet established their own credit history, they can evaluate the credit history and score of a fictitious borrower in the Managing Your Credit Report and Score case instead. This case can be used in a Borrowing or Credit module in a graduate or undergraduate personal finance course, or it can serve as background for the Managing Your Credit Report and Score case. It also can be used as a standalone case.

Teaching and learning

This item is suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
