Abstract
Recognised as a popular online social media platform, Facebook, Inc (Facebook), currently known as Meta, had offered services like sharing pictures, articles, videos, individual opinions, etc, to a large number of users worldwide. Apart from providing a host of online services, Facebook in 2011 had committed to source 100% renewable energy for its operation facilities. In 2020, Facebook had achieved that target. Besides, the company had aimed to carry out various water restoration projects at several states in the US like Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, Oregon, and Utah. Also, as a part of combating the climate change crisis, on August 19th 2021, the management of Facebook had formally declared its plans to restore more water than its probable consumption within 2030. In this context, they had stressed for taking up water stewardship projects, thereby actively working towards minimising the company's water footprint. Subsequently, Facebook had initiated to build numerous water restoration projects in some of the US states such as New Mexico, Arizona, etc. With the support of various water restoration projects, would Facebook be able to offset the climate change challenge in future?
