Abstract

The case study seeks to highlight the inspiring journey of an Indian women entrepreneur, her vision, grit and determination. This journey of the protagonist Falguni Nayar is an exemplary showcase of the leadership potential of a woman from humble background, aspiring to carve a niche through her competence and merit in a competitive market. The case highlights her unconventional path to success despite odds, and her belief in the growth story of a young aspirational India fueled by increasing online presence. Her ambition to create a one-stop beauty and personal care destination with access to millions of young consumers across the country saw the birth and growth of the brand Nykaa as a multibrand omnichannel business. Today Nykaa with its hybrid presence across 38 cities in the country and over 130,000 products on offer is a proven new age business model that has garnered investor confidence through its blockbuster IPO. Nykaa has proved to its naysayers that any dream however small or big is achievable if one has the insight and determination to succeed.
