Abstract

This case focuses on the efforts of Electronic Commerce Network, an early stage start-up company providing electronic commerce services to web merchants and their fulfillment, payment and shipping partners, to understand its business model and refine its business plan in preparation for another round of financing. It is intended for graduate level courses in management accounting. The teaching note includes three sections: (1) assignment; (2) a two page (B) case that can be reproduced and handed out in the latter part of class; and (3) slides that can be used both as a teaching guide and as a recap presentation for students at the end of class.
