Abstract
Ateme, global leader of video compression and delivery solutions services, evolved in a sector where research and innovation drove performance and success and depended on speed of execution and fluidity in human relationships of the company's employees. Trust and cohesion were critical to meet challenges; everything was extremely fast, so keeping a healthy momentum as in any tech firm was very important. It is a successful company, and the case evolves around the inquiry of Joseph Soueidi, Chief Operations Officer, whose ambition is to continue to build on the company's success and form a future-ready team of employees who grow and learn together. The heart of Ateme's challenge was to create a learning culture with an ambition to foster trust among employees so they can co-develop a culture of effective collaboration. The core of the issue was in fact to invent a new leadership culture based on trust and relying on leadership training so that the company can continue to grow to attract and retain the best talents. The company launched a leadership initiative called Athena, named after the Greek goddess of wisdom; the roll-out took place online on their internal platform. The program was managed by Karolina Ostrowska, Deputy Vice President of Human Resources, who worked in tandem with Joseph to communicate internally and stimulate exchange and discussions between participants involved in the Athena program. In the first cohort of Athena, the CEO and board members participated. The ambition was eventually to enlist all managers and create a spillover effect on the entire company so the learning journey would benefit all.
