Abstract
Started in the late 1950s, KB Home, the fifth largest homebuilder in the US has grown through acquisitions of large homebuilders based in fast growing cities in states like Florida, Arizona and California. Besides strategic acquisitions, KB Home grew by concentrating on building high quality customised homes. With 27,331 homes built in 2003, KB Home plans to further increase its market share by focusing on certification programmes for improved quality home building and efficient handling of customer complaints through its ''Say Yes'' initiative. This case study highlights KB Home''s planned acquisitions for its growth and offers scope to discuss its attempt to become one of the biggest homebuilders in the US.
