Abstract
The case details the journey of a laundromat franchise, UClean, in a completely unorganized sector of India. The domain of the household cleaning business is worth more than USD80 billion, and yet 97% of the households employ a local washerman or a washerwoman. UClean is changing the landscape of this sector by launching franchise stores across India. They have often introduced innovative ideas to increase the acceptance of laundromats in a culture that does not easily adopt them. The case is useful to discuss the concepts of blue ocean strategy, business model canvas, and the value of the franchise model over owning the last mile delivery.
