Abstract

Sustainable business practices and sustainability are the key focus areas in Industry 5.0. They have transformed strategic decision-making for corporations, allocating resources for long-term benefits. The larger the scale of operations for an organization, the greater the commitment to making its business practices sustainable and responsive to climate change. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) worldwide have emerged as crucial players in addressing sustainability issues. However, these enterprises face challenges in adapting their processes and workforce to green business practices and sustainable ideologies due to limited access to financial and technological resources. A similar situation is experienced by Sardar Paramjeet Singh Saggu, the owner of a small business unit in an industrial area of Delhi. He is currently facing a major crisis threatening the survival of his business due to environmental concerns raised by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee.
