Abstract
This is part of a case series. Agam was a self-driven professional, who believed in giving the best in all endeavors. He had excelled in academics as well as sports like tennis. He had an impressive track record as an individual performer and contributor. However, he struggled when he was given the responsibility to manage a team of four members. This was his first experience as a people manager and he struggled with the current scenario. Something that made the situation more complex was that all four members were 3-4 years older than him and had more work experience than him. Some of them were also students of the better-ranked Business schools than the one in which he was pursuing his MBA. He was wondering how he should motivate his team members to get things done. He was also curious to understand what would work with them to get a good performance. He was contemplating what approach would be the most suitable to derive the best output from them.
