Abstract
The Kraft Heinz Company (Kraft Heinz), established in 2015 by the merger of Kraft Foods Group, Inc, and HJ Heinz Holding Corporation, was a manufacturer of delicious, wholesome food and beverages with a stellar reputation around the world. Since 1988, one of the most popular food products to be introduced in the United States had been Lunchables, a product of Oscar Mayer, a Kraft Heinz subsidiary. People adored Lunchables: kids because the interactive feature encouraged them to 'play with their food', and parents because of the low cost and ease of use. Given the USD25 billion growth potential presented by the school lunch sector; Kraft Heinz made the decision to introduce Lunchables in schools in 2023. New turkey-and-cheese and pizza Lunchables from Kraft Heinz were launched; they had been redesigned to meet Government requirements for the National School Lunch Programme. As worries about children's nutrition and the health effects of processed meals increased, Kraft Heinz's plan to introduce Lunchables in schools was met with resistance from certain child nutrition advocates, school meal authorities, and others who saw the products as a step backward for school-lunch programmes. How would Lunchables fare in the school lunch market?
