Abstract
In 2019, Rachana Gupta along with her husband and Dr Aarati Patil, launched Gynoveda as a digital platform to help diagnose and treat reproductive and menstrual problems. Gynoveda which was based on the concept of tech meets Ayurveda, an ancient system of medicine, was a novel way of reaching and treating Indian women irrespective of their economic status and location. Women who did not have access to doctors as well as those who were reluctant to visit clinics for their gynaecological issues benefited from this platform. Aided by the COVID-19 pandemic, the femtech brand saw huge growth. The brand which was purely online sought to expand and go offline in 2023. Was this the best way to scale up the brand given the sensitive nature of its products?
