Abstract
Known to be a top-performing company in its segment, Pune-based automotive component maker Bharat Forge had come a long way banking largely on product diversification and customer base. However, despite immense prospects, certain factors were threatening to come in the way of Bharat Forge's diversification journey. Still, the company had been resilient in its efforts throughout its business journey commencing way back in the 1960s, and in the process, scripted many a success story as well as challenges. Defying all these, it came to be recognised among the most innovative and successful companies to have emerged in and thrive in the realm of forging. What had made the company put its trust so much on product diversification and a corresponding customer continuum? What were the challenges that could impede its roadmap?
