Abstract

Marvel Studios, LLC (Marvel) had disrupted the movie industry after the release of its movie 'Avengers: Endgame' in 2019, which had created history by crossing the multibillion-dollar mark. Despite a rough start and bankruptcy in 1996, Marvel had overcome challenges, and its movies were earning over billions. In 2009, the turning point of the company began when Disney acquired Marvel for a whopping USD4.3 billion. Marvel's Avengers, Iron Man 3, Black Panther had garnered more than USD1 billion. Since 2010, Marvel had redefined the movie franchise and garnered huge success compared to other film franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek. Despite Marvel's immense success and its unique business strategy, after the release of 'Avengers: Endgame', there were several inconsistencies and uncertainty in the studio's projects. In 2023, 'The Marvels' had the worst box office weekend in the history of Marvel movie releases. Will the entertainment titan overcome the challenges to achieve long term success?
