Abstract

This is a Spanish version. In August 2018, siblings Mariell and Alexis Allande, founders of the company B&B COCOA BAR, began operations in Monterrey (in the Mexican state of Nuevo León), with the production of nutritious bars made with avocado, coconut, chocolate and other raw materials. Due to the success of their main product, the company expanded its market to health food stores in other cities. In March 2020, the partners had the opportunity to expand their sales with a self-service chain; to do so, they had to meet certain requirements, including changing the ecological packaging, which had a different cost. Mariell and Alexis had to give their potential client an answer in three days and they considered that it would be necessary to evaluate the cost-benefit of the company, before and after the change in the product presentation, in order to make the decision.
