Abstract
In 2004, following unsuccessful negotiations with labour unions on wage concessions, US Airways, America''s seventh largest airline, filed for bankruptcy for the second time since 2002. This time, the airline aims to repeat the success of the 2002 restructuring and emerging as a low cost airline. This case study, while dwelling on the reasons for the bankruptcy of US Airways, highlights its restructuring strategies to recover from its poor financial health.
