In 2003, Samsung Electronic Co Limited developed ''silver nano'' washing machines, which utilised the disinfectant property of nano sized silver ions to come out with a new genre of washing machines. Leveraging on this new technology, Samsung is poised to revolutionise the global washing machine industry. This case study provides the scope to discuss the future scenario of the global washing machine industry when innovative technology would keep garments germ-free even after a month of them being laundered.
