Abstract
This is part of a case series. This multi-part case focuses on individual job-search decisions following the failure of an organization. It features two employees, Mie and Søren, who were suddenly displaced by the bankruptcy of the Danish bunker-trading giant BUNKERTRADE. The firm collapsed within a couple of days only months after a successful IPO. They considered their options and job search strategies: staying in the bunker-trading industry or venturing outside, waiting the situation out or taking action, and moving to a new organization on their own or with colleagues. The case examines their decision-making, and compares the considerations, decisions, and outcomes of both characters.
