Abstract
The case explains the evolution of Dr Reddy''s Foundation for Human and Social Development (DRFHSD) and its initiatives for improving the conditions of the underprivileged. The case provides information on the mission of the Foundation and its different projects. It focuses on the role played by Dr Reddy and Dr Reddy''s Laboratories in the Foundation''s activities. The case discusses the innovative programmes of the Foundation and the support of other corporate houses and non-government organisations and non-profit organisations in successful implementation of these programmes. The case is designed to enable students to: (1) understand the importance of corporate social responsibility and its impact on the image of corporates; (2) appreciate the role of corporates in bringing about social change; and (3) understand the innovative strategies adopted by DRFHSD in its activities. The case is aimed at MBA/PGDBA students, and is intended to be part of the ethics and social responsibility curriculum.
