This is the first of a two-case series (E304-296-1 and E304-297-1). This is a Spanish translation of case ''304-296-1''. Podravka is a Croatian corporation engaged in food and drug processing, distribution, and marketing. As of the date of this case, nearly 56% of sales were made in the domestic market, whereas 65% of international sales were accounted for by Poland, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. Mr Darki Marinac, the corporation''s CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and Chaiman, has set the goal of doubling the sales and profits reached in 2000, the year he took charge of the corporation, by 2005. To do so, he first must assess his corporation''s central competencies and find growth options.
