Abstract

This is part of a case series. After providing a brief summary of case (A), case (B) explores Obi's decision to resign from her old job and how she takes on the challenges she faces at her new one. Highly successful professionally, she has to dedicate more and more time to her job to the detriment of her family. The case focuses on the work-family interface, with a flashback to Obi's previous job and the time she was also engaged in part-time studies. The objectives of the case are to make participants reflect on their priorities in life and clarify their life goals; to challenge the traditional division of tasks between men and women; and to suggest ways in which a couple with children can organise their work-family interface.
