Abstract

Lawbreed Limited is a publisher of legal reports faced with the challenge of achieving nationwide distribution of its bulky law report to legal practitioners in Nigeria, a developing country with poor infrastructure and with logistics services offered at high prices. Payment systems are also inadequately developed, with very little law enforcement with regards to defaults on payments. This case presents an opportunity to discuss the problem facing small businesses marketing their products in a developing country, with an emphasis on channel design and management. Target students include managers and owners of small- and medium-scale businesses (SMEs) in developing countries.
