Abstract

The case gives an overview of Domino''s revamped supply chain operations in India. It discusses the various benefits of the new logistics model and discusses the reasons for the revamp. The benefit of low costs achieved through the new model was passed on to the customers in the form of lower prices. The case also compares Domino''s new supply chain model with McDonald''s supply chain model. The case is structured to enable students to: (1) understand the advantages of Domino''s new model of supply chain in India; (2) analyse the reasons for revamping the existing supply chain; (3) study the components of the supply chain of a fast food company and effective management of the same; and (4) analyse the supply chain of another fast food company and compare it with Domino''s supply chain model. The case is intended for MBA/PGDBM level students, it could be part of the production and operations management curriculum.
