President Samaranch''s continual as President of the International Olympic Committee was at stake as well. After having received a vote of confidence, Samaranch was to decide the strategy he should follow in order to get the IOC out of the current crisis, which would also be a decisive factor as to what kind of IOC and Olympic Games the world would see in the future.
