Abstract
This ''mini'' case describes the decisions made during the selecting, implementation and further development of software to support supplier relationship management (SRM) at HBOS. HBOS was formed on 10 September 2001 when Halifax plc, the UK''s largest mortgage lender merged with the Bank of Scotland. At the time of the merger, the bank identified procurement as an area where substantial savings could be made. The SRM solution is based on an Extract Transfer Load tool that operates on top of the bank''s legacy system. Information is collected from the legacy systems and processed to support purchasing decisions.
