Abstract

This negotiation case features a multi-party negotiation that can be carried out as a role-play. It contains the respective briefs of the four parties to the negotiation: Victor Oil imports fuel in partnership with Jurgen AG (a German company) into an African country and delivers it to PPMC, the petroleum parastatal corporation. One consignment proves to be substandard and its sale in petrol stations causes widespread damage to people and property. The Environment Protection Agency takes up the matter and all parties concerned meet to assign responsibility and agree on how to repair the damage. A technical note ('Negotiation and Communication') accompanies the case.
