The case also discusses in detail about the benefits reaped by DELL and its customers and suppliers due to the company''s effective e-supply chain management practices. The case is designed to help students develop a general understanding of the following: (1) the need for the development of an e-commerce-enabled website; (2) how an e-commerce-enabled website can help in managing the supply and demand chain; (3) the architecture and technology used by an e-commerce-enabled website; and (4) the benefits reaped by a company and its stakeholders by managing the e-supply chain effectively. The case is intended for MBA/PGDBM level students as part of the knowledge, information and communication systems management curriculum.
