Abstract

The Compound UK case was developed from a research study of a real organisation, although the name of the organisation and its employees have been changed to preserve confidentiality. The case study is concerned with the implementation of groupware technology, with the objective of improving teamwork and knowledge sharing. The case illustrates the importance of the socio-political context in enabling and constraining the effectiveness of the use of an IT system.
