Abstract
This video case study documents the evolution of a firm from start-up through to various stages of growth, setbacks and innovation. The enterprise is an up-market women''s fashion clothing company based in the United Kingdom. The video was created specifically for MBA Entrepreneurship courses which place a major emphasis on the business plan. The documentary is in three parts of approximately equal length. Part 1 maps out the evolution of the firm from a single product pilot launch through to a multi-product and multi-division internationally trading (EU, USA & Japan) enterprise. This section of the video provides an opportunity to discuss issues relating to firm start-up, evolution, growth and survival. At the end of part 1 it is clear that the firm has some major strategic decisions to make. Part 2 provides an overview of most parts of the business as it currently stands. The overview is sequential and divides the business into sub sections that one would normally encounter in a standard business plan. After viewing part 2, students should be in a reasonable position to critically evaluate the strategic options facing the company. Finally, part 3 of the video outlines the strategy which the company has decided to pursue. Playing time is 44 minutes.
