Abstract
This is the second of a three-case series (301-222-1 to 301-224-1). The series focuses on the recent fortunes of PRG (The Profit Recovery Group International, Inc) during the late 1990s. It describes the rapid growth of this innovative firm in the pioneer audit recovery industry and then how, after having been a favourite of security analysts, the company''s glory faded as problems arose from its swift development. PRG''s reaction to this situation is also presented. Taken individually, these three cases enable the instructor to ''compartmentalise'' students'' knowledge of this history so that solutions can be proposed and debated in class. These can then be compared to what PRG actually decided to do when the next case is issued to students.
