Abstract
The Taieri Golf Club is a non profit organisation which has suffered from a deteriorating financial position. A long term member, Jack Williams, is concerned about the adverse turn in the Club''s fortunes and initiates an investigation to try to identify the causes. The case requires students to analyse the situation, identify problems the Club is facing and propose a strategy to correct the situation. Students are required to carry out a general SWOT type analysis of the organisation as well as basic financial analysis of the Club''s financial statements over a four year period. The case is designed to involve students in integrating information as a basis for making sound decisions rather than thinking of information in self contained disciplinary subject areas.
