This paper examines the present structure of the UK Broadcasting Industry and the challenges facing it in the 1990s. The market is in a state of flux: the 1980s saw new channels and programme introductions including the arrival of non-terrestrial television. The focus of change in the 1990s will be on new technology and multi-media link-ups. This paper assesses the strategic outlook for the industry.
